Wednesday Night at Pair A Dice

It's good to have the boys on Summer vacation, we were able to head over to Pair A Dice after I got off work and play some. We tried out Fantasy Flight's Lord of the Rings LCG. (Living Card Game). A Living Card Game is one which has booster pack style expansions, but they're not collectible, they're set cards. Well we played the store's base copy, it plays pretty cool, it's a cooperative game so making sure your friends survive is definitely a priority. It's a well thought out game that's not always winnable. One of the cool things is that you can actually play it solo, it's designed that way, not like playing Monopoly by yourself solo, but like playing solitaire, Solitaire for the LotR Geek.

I'm not sure I'll ever buy it at the $60 price tag. It does have the standard Fantasy Flight mark of quality. With thick cardboard pieces, a 'threat' counter that you would pay $10 for easily if bought separately and you get 2 of them. The problem with LCGs is like most of games, you 'want' to have all the cards...MUST HAVE ALL TEH CARDS..../drool.

Store Spotlight!!! Pair-a-dice Games PICTURES!!!

So we took a trip over the new store...WOW! The place is amazing. From the polished concrete entry, with Pair-a-Dice logo on the floor to the game room, Rob has created an amazing space for gamers. Don't forget there's also a rentable RPG room....with kitchenette...

You need to see it to understand!

This is the view you get as you walk in....

Store Spotlight!!! Pair-a-dice Games MOVING....TODAY!!!

Well I had hoped to get to Pair-a-dice today to get some pictures of the move, unfortunately life intervened and prevented such a photographic opportunity...So...Tomorrow or Wednesday I will head over and get pics of the brand new store!

News! Pair-a-dice move!

So Pair-a-dice games is finally ready to start their move! September 12th is the day they're moving. We should be there to take a few snaps of the move as it happens, it's going to be pretty sweet. When the move happens; Pathfinder Society should be coming to North County.

Rob went all out with the store, not only is it now HUGE, it's fancy too!

Store Spotlight - Pair-A-Dice Games

The pictures for the store spotlight have been posted on the Facebook account.

Pair-A-Dice Games is located just off I-78 in Vista, in the In-n-Out Burger complex.

Pair-a-Dice will be the only store, in San Diego, with the Free RPG Day swag on June 18th (according to the Free RPG Day website at time of writing).

The store has puzzles, board games, role-playing games, CCGs, CMGs, and much much more. Rob has been expanding his used book section and it has now expanded into a second set of shelves, if you're looking for out of print games, there's a good chance Pair-a-dice has what you're looking for.

With a game room that fits 5 tables, you can usually find some sort of game going on in the evenings. From Magic the Gathering and  Monsterpocalypse, to Pathfinder Society and RPGA, it's the only game in North County. Check the calender on their  Event Calender.

Within the next couple weeks Pair-a-Dice is moving down to the end of the building in a brand new 3800+ sq.ft. store, complete with private gaming room, and what's to be the largest game room in San Diego (per Rob's claim.) Exciting times are coming to the San Diego Game Scene!
