Rail Guns, a super powerful electromagnetic rail gun.
I have a couple of issues with the rail guns as presented.
Savage Rifts: Mini rail gun has an ROF of 4, Shots 32. Each pull of the trigger fires a burst which uses 4 Shots. (Dice equals ROF) That's 8 bursts before it's out of ammo.
Cost of ammo 10% of 45,000 = 4,500 credits. It can carry 3x the ammo if it has an ammo drum. that's 13,500 credits.
Rifts: SAMAS Rail gun carries 2,000 rounds, each burst is 40 rounds. That's a total of 50 bursts.
Cost of Ammo 1 credit per 2 rounds = 1,000 credits. That's using an ammo drum.
Speaking of cost, I have no clue where the
WHAT!!!! why does the ammo for the RIFTS rail gun cost 450% more? Technically 1350% more for half as many BURSTs.
Glitter Boy Boom Cannon. The listing of the weapon lists that it has a MBT. I believe that this is the Sonic Boom generated at ground zero of the blast. I don't think it blasts an area with the flechettes.
Here is my House Rule version of a Rifts "Burst" in Savage Rifts
A Single Burst is equal to the ROF as a single attack. Shots lists the number of full automatic bursts a Rail Gun can fire before needing to reload.
Here are my updated costs for Railguns.
Mini Railguns 100 credits per Burst.
Light Rail Guns 200 credits per Burst
Medium Rail Guns 350 credits per Burst
Heavy Rail Guns 500 credits per Burst
These ammo costs are still miles beyond Rifts, but, aren't as crippling.
I will also be posting individual weapons with their own statlines, rather than the generic Mini RailGun.
