Saltmarsh Chronicles

Prior Sessions: Lady Greyshield returns to reclaim her family's title to Greyshield Manor, and Lordship of Saltmarsh, perched on the cliffs overlooking the town of Saltmarsh. Lady Greyshield had known the house would need clearing, but soldiers from 50 miles away would be prohibitively expensive, so she hired peasants to clear the house, many peasants died inside and outside the grounds of the house.

Session 6:
Characters in Session: Jacques, Kellen, Hinter, Topher,
The stalwart peasants went to town to sell some barrels of brandy. As Jacques bartered his wares, the others were travelling down the road to town. A grinning goblin brought them a note bearing the wax seal of Lady Greyshield. Being true heroes they formulated a plan: bribe the goblins with the cask of ale.

While returning to the house with donkey and cart in the late dusk darkness, they were accosted by Falcoer, a bandit known as "The tax collector", who fled when the true tax collector drew steel. While eating and camping at Greyshield Manor, the crew was once again set upon by the dastardly Falcoer Four, a quick colorspray from Kellen took out two and blinded Falcoer, who was knocked prone as his companions slammed into his legs. Then the twang of crossbow and the shriek of feathered bolt pierced the air, followed by a scream cutshort as the fourth bandit was laid low.

Falcoer and his two companions were then convinced to 'assist' by delivering the ale to the goblins. Chadwyn and Bretlen were sent ahead as Falcoer waited with the others. An hour later Bretlen returned, informing them that Chaddwyn had been married to Qqenlen, the goblin princess. 2 hours later, the party aproached, bearing gold (a result of the fleeting transmutation granted by Kellen's patron 'Midaes"). The gold was presented to the King to exchange for Lady Greyshield. Lady Greyshield had grown bored waiting and let herself out thru a secret passage after apparently slaughtering the entire troupe set to guard her. Another sealed note, "I grew bored and let myself out" catch up, and be rewarded.

The party peers through the slightly ajar secret passageway, and sets forth after Lady Greyshield, knowing her lead is short...

Session 7.
characters in session Hinter, Jacques, Benson, Dreck, & Nikolas

The group heads into the tunnel, illuminated by Jacques' lantern, after a series of tunnels, and odd happenings, such as the water flowing up the tunnel, and the waterfall moving so slowly in time as to appear frozen, the characters make their way into a pocket realm. Arriving in a Faerie ring, the characters interact with 5 leprechauns, who chant in unison riddles related to the realm. They also realize that time is...off. As after entering one after another in the alcove, mere seconds apart, they arrived 10 or 15 minutes apart in the other realm. Following various paths, they encounter a group of angry Satyrs, who want to frolic, and leprechauns once more, who tried to trick them into leaving their weapons. Near the river they meet a faerie dragon, who sells information for a dear price, a Gold piece that Nikolas had. Their Lady in now in the Crystal Spire.

Session 8
Characters in Session Hinter, Jacques, & Dreck. New characters Melody the Faerie Commoner, & The Puck (Halfling) Merchant
The characters teamed up with a pair of local residents, a Puck, and a faerie commoner. With the locals to guide them, they travel through the Cave of Frogs unmolested, cross the bridge from the Fountain All Heal, and reach the yellow rose arbor. The faerie commoner flits above, and sees the two Black Unicorns, knowing not to intrude upon their meadow. After some experimentation, they realize singing to the roses allows them part, and they are able to pass the arbor, and move to the maze. Two hours pass reaching the center of the maze, where the riddle of the leaves is revealed, 4 leaves are needed, 1 is in hand, so they deposit the oak leaf, and identify the mistletoe and clover, but fail to identify the last.
The locals know where to find the mistletoe and clover, and depart the maze, halfway through finding it changed, after another 2 hours they escape the maze. They locate the Barkburr Grove of oaks where the mistletoe grows, then locate a pendant up in the tree, a golden pendant with a black gemstone. The faerie is curious about the sword stuck in the roots of the largest oak in the grove, and grabs it; quickly becoming enthralled by the evil blade; though further resists efforts to attack. When Jacques finds a silver piece lodged in the oak with a scrap of leather, Hinter realizes that those trees were once aggressive adventurers; and they flee the grove with Mistletoe in hand.
A quick trip to the Faerie Ring nets a clover. The party realizes that the Faerie dragon Hwyvar may know what the last leaf is. Hwyvar gives the information, then expects payment, which the party gladly relinquishes in exchange for the location, near the Fountain Heal All. The payment being the golden necklace from the pendant. Hwyvar offers to guide them once the price has been paid. They arrive, and suddenly Hwyvar grabs Melody and dives into the fountain, freeing the little faerie from the control of the blade. Which Hwyvar returns to the Barkburr grove. The adventurers gather the dogwood rose leaf, and return to the maze, finding it changed once more. They reach the center, set the leaves and are transported to another location, the walled garden before the Spire.
They look around, and the halfling tosses a coin into the reflecting pool for luck. They approach the front doors, where statues of a man and woman stand idly. The message above the door "Enter in Peace" is easily read above the door.
